Feather beaker - James Dougall

James approaches his work very much from first principles - quite literally, often beginning a new work with an ingot of silver rather than a sheet of metal. James has a strong sense of curiosity and has shown that he has a strong facility to employ different techniques in his work, often combining other natural materials such as wood or shagreen.
His Feather collection with their strong chiselled surface decorations stemmed from an inspirational and transformative week training with Malcolm Appleby at his workshop in Scotland, where James has returned many times since.
